Los Angeles, CA – August 1, 2018 — The newly formed Craft Beverage Tour Operators Association (CBTOA) has officially launched today. Conceptualized by tour operators at the original Beer Marketing and Tourism Conference, the Association is a 501(c)(6) non-profit with a mission to support craft beverage tour operators and grow their business opportunities by building bridges between its members and the craft beverage, tourism and allied communities around the world. The CBTOA steering committee consists of Chair Ashley Rose Salvitti of Brewvana Portland Brewery Tours, Vice Chair David Phillips of Dave’s Travel and Events Group, Treasurer Hal Mooney of LA Beer Hop, and Secretary and Communications Director Barry Hansen of City Brew Tours. Over the past 3 months that committee has been hard at work putting the initial required pieces together to finalize the formation of this organization.
Initial members were recruited from interested parties in attendance at the second annual BMTCon held in Burlington, VT this March. The organization is committed to representing the Craft Beverage Tour industry worldwide and already counts members from multiple regions of the United States as well as Canada and Australia among its ranks. The Association hopes to open more categories of membership before the end of 2018. Benefits of the Association Membership are already available for owners and operators of beverage tour businesses. Additional benefits will become available to add value to having member categories for Beverage Manufacturers, Beverage Retailers, Guilds, Destination Marketing Organizations, and other Allies of the Craft Beverage and Travel industries.
The Association now has an open-call for new members. You can research the organization at cbtoa.org and if interested in becoming a member you only need to submit a simple six question inquiry form at https://cbtoa.org/become-a-member/ to get started.
